Mrs. Artis, a native of Wayne County, N.C., retired from the Naval Supply Ceneter after 28 years. She was the widow of Madison Artis and a member of United House of Prayer for all People. Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Burnett of Portsmouth; a son, Floyd Godfrey of Silver Spring, Md.; her mother, Mamie Hodges of Norfolk, an adopted sister, Peggy Wilson of Alabama; a half sister, Gladys Brown of Washington, D.C.; and a grandchild. The funeral will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. today in United House of Prayer for all People by the Rev. William Scott Sr. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Calvary Cemetery.
