Norfolk Journal and Guide, Aug 22,1970

Norfolk - Roger Devon  Asbelle, of 932 Duke street, received final rites Aug. 
15 in Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. J. Arrington.  Interment was in 
Calvary Cemetery.  Hale Funeral handled the arrangements.

The North Carolina native was a son of Mrs. Carrie Asbelle and the late Fred. 
R. Asbelle Sr.  He was the husband of Mrs. Josephine Asbelle.

In addition to his widow and mother, surviving are two sons, James Asbelle of 
North Carolina and Jeffery Asbelle of Norfolk;  two daughters, Misses Patricia 
Asbelle of North Carolina and Carrie Mae Asbelle of Norfolk;  one brother, 
Fred R. Asbelle Jr. of Norfolk;  and three sisters, Mrs. Julia Lundy of 
Norfolk, Miss Carrie Mae McLean of Chicago IL, and Mrs. Doris Bedding of North 
Carolina.
