Virginian-Pilot March 6, 1913
The remains of Mrs. Marion D. Ashburn, wife of Charles H. Ashburn, arrived in 
Norfolk yesterday morning from Atlanta, Ga., accompanied by relatives. The funeral 
was held at McKendree M. E. Church, South, at 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon and 
was numerously attended. The service was conducted by the pastor, Rev. George 
Wesley Jones, and Rev. J. Truman Anderson of Park Avenue Baptist Church. There was 
a wealth of beautiful floral offerings, attesting to the love and esteem in which 
Mrs. Ashburn was held in Norfolk. The interment was in Elmwood cemetery.
The following were the pallbearers: H. O. Billups, C. E. Herbert, R. C. Henely, H. 
A. Lanier, A. Tatum and G. Benson Ferebee.
