She was welcomed into Heaven by angelic smiles from her husband, Hank, and her eldest daughter, Kathy. Our sadness is eased by the amazing company she now keeps. Janie was born on January 9, 1927, and the world has seen nothing like her since, and her loving family argues that it ever will again. She and Hank met before he was sent overseas during WWII, and they were married once he returned. The love they shared for over 65 years can no longer be separated by distance or time. Hank has his bride back. Their brilliant love story is now eternal. She is survived by her dedicated children, Billy and Theresa. Her legacy continues to grow beyond her wonderful life through her grand- and great-grandchildren. During Janie's time at Lake Taylor Transitional Care, she was cared for by a dedicated and professional staff. She was treated with unyielding dignity and gentleness that deserves acknowledgement and praise. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28 from 6 to 8 p.m., at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 818 Norview Ave, Norfolk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3401 Tidewater Dr., Norfolk, on Friday, April 29 at 10 a.m. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/va/norfolkcity/obits/a/ashley2036nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/vafiles/ File size: 1.9 Kb
