Lawrence R. Ashlin, 70, of the 4300 block of Newport Ave., a retired machinist, 
died Feb. 19, 1992, in a hospital.

Mr. Ashlin was born in Birkenhead, England, and had served in the Home Guard in 
England during World War II. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Pieternella Ashlin; four daughters, Jeanette Abrigo, 
Margarieta Padilla, Sidney Ashlin and Mary Ashlin, all of Norfolk; two sons, 
Michael Ashlin of Norfolk and Richard Ashlin of Portsmouth; a brother, William H. 
Ashlin of Norfolk; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Pius X 
Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may join the 
family from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive 
Chapel.
