Ashton, departed this life at the family residence, No. 811 Tunstall Avenue, at 8:10 o’clock last night, after an illness of several days. The deceased was a most estimable lady and her death will be deeply lamented by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. Virginian-Pilot, May 23, 1900 Ashton-At her residence, No. 811 Tunstall Avenue, Tuesday, May 22, 1900, at 8:15 o’clock p.m., Margaret V., beloved wife of W.J. Ashton, aged 31 years. Funeral will take place Thursday, May 24, at 4 o’clock p.m., from the First Baptist Church. Friends and acquaintances respectfully invited to attend. Virginian-Pilot, May 25, 1900 The funeral of Mrs. Margaret V. Ashton, wife of Mr. W.J. Ashton, was solemnized for the First Baptist Church at 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon. The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. E.B. Hatcher, assisted by Rev. Vernon J. Anson, off the West Norfolk Baptist Church. The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.
