NORFOLK - Mattie O. Askew, 84, of the 700 block of Maryland Ave., passed away
June 12, 2010. She was a native of Elizabeth City, N.C., and a retired school
teacher from the Norfolk Public School system. Survivors include two daughters,
Carolyn Branch and Annette Williams and a host of other relatives and friends. A
funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17, at Graves Funeral Home
Chapel, the Rev. Ronnie Joyner officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary
Cemetery. Graves Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
