Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch October 2, 1911
Mr. John T. Askew died at his residence, No. 415 Clifford street, last night at 
9:50 o’clock. He was forty years of age and is survived by his wife and two sons, 
Messrs. Marshall and Braxton Askew, and one daughter, Mis Eva Askew. He was sick 
about 5 weeks. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Arthur C. Thomson, 
rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, at the residence, this afternoon at 3:30 
o’clock. The interment will be in Elmwood cemetery, Norfolk.
