Virginia Beach - Mrs. Mary Askew, 78, of 404 Southgate Ave., a native of 
Moyock, NC, died Wednesday in a hospital.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Lynnhaven, and its Senior Choir 
and Sunday School Class 9 and Eastern Star Chapter 48.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Lovie Sawyer of Northwest; and a brother, 
Herman Askew of Virginia Beach.

A funeral service will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in First Baptist Church, 
Lynnhaven, by the Rev. J. L. Finner. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with 
Walton's Funeral Home in charge.
