Virginia Beach - Mrs. Louise Askew of 706 16th street died Tuesday in a 
hospital after a short illness.  A native of Elizabeth City, NC, she was a 
daughter of the late Gregory and Mrs. Mary Holley and the widow of Zion 
Askew.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, Lynnhaven.

Surviving are three sons, Lawrence Askew of Virginia Beach, James Askew of 
New York, and Eugene Askew of Baltimore;  five daughters, Mrs. Mary Uzzle 
and Mrs Annie Sparrow of Virginia Beach, Mrs. Esther Carter of Norfolk, Mrs. 
Catherine Williams of Washington, and Miss Harriett Askew of New York;  six 
grandchildren;  and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were held in First Baptist Church, Lynnhaven, by the Rev. M. R. 
Boone.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Graves Funeal Home in charge of 
arrangements.
