VIRGINIA BEACH - Carrie S. Askew of 3940 Brentwood Crescent, a native of 
Suffolk, died Sunday in a hospital.

Mrs. Askew is survived by three daughters, Margaret L. Cuffee of Virginia Beach, 
Mary Askew of Norfolk and Evilla Poyner of Bablylon, N.Y.; a son Lindsay W. 
askew Sr. of Chesapeake; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-
great-grandchild.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Twilight Funeral Home, 
Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. J. Jasper Freeman. Burial will be in Calvary 
Cemetery.

Visitation will begin this evening. The family will be at the funeral home from 
7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
