J. Jasper Freeman officiating. Born in Ahoskie, NC, he had lived here 10 years. His widow, Mrs. Queen-Alice Askew, three sons, a sister, six brothers, and other relatives survive. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. William, Detroit, MI, and Lionel Askew of Ahoskie, brothers, were at the funeral. Acting pallbearers were G. Holloman, William Gosham, Lewis Bonds, James Askew, Willie Peoples and George Garfield. Serving as flower girls were Mmes. M. Barnett and Eula Holloway, Misses Rita Gwaltney and Beatrice Smith.
