Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, March 31, 1992 
John Lewis Atkins of the 100 block of Suburban Parkway, a retired material
sorter, died March 27, 1992, in a hospital.

Mr. Atkins was born in Warren County, N.C. He had retired from the Naval Supply
Center after 39 years. He was a member of Bibleway Holiness Church in Chesapeake.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Atkins; a daughter, Frances White of
Virginia Beach; four sons, John M. Atkins and John R. Cook, both of Norfolk, and
Robert G. Atkins and Michael L. Atkins, both of Virginia Beach; 13
grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Bibleway Holiness Church
by the Rev. William Faison. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family will
assemble at 1016 Tradewinds Road, Virginia Beach. The body will be placed in the
church at 10 a.m. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
