Theresa was born in Norfolk, VA on August 5, 1961, to the late Joe and Ruby Decker. At the age of 14, she became a big sister to Jackie whom she knew from an early age would be her best friend for life. Theresa served as a guiding light to Jackie well into her adulthood, eventually the two of them tackling life's challenges side-by-side. Theresa never met a stranger and had an infectious personality. She worked for various companies and business partners across the Hampton Roads area. She formed dozens of lifelong friendships and connections with those who worked alongside her over the decades. Theresa was everyone's biggest cheerleader and the best daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, cousin and friend to all. She was an incredible cook, although if you asked her, none of it was "any good." She was always trying new recipes or perfecting Lebanese dishes. She enjoyed traveling the country with her sunroof down, blasting classic rock and finding the best dive bars any city had to offer. Theresa excelled at many things in her life, but she would tell you her biggest accomplishment was raising her two sons, Ryan and Derek. She loved them unconditionally but loved her four grandkids even more. She was so proud to be their Tattee. Theresa is survived by her two sons, Ryan Atkinson (Kacee) and Derek Atkinson (Kathleen), sister Jackie Corletto (Tony), nephew Rocco Corletto, four grandchildren Peyton, Scout, Decker, and Miles Atkinson and countless beloved cousins, aunts and uncles, whom all hold a special place in her heart. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on November 21st at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Norfolk. A private graveside burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, consider donations to Pete Decker's Children's Charity.
