Virginian-Pilot, August 24, 1928
Mrs. Jakemine Firfield Atwood, aged 76, widow of E. V. Atwood, died at the 
residence of her daughter, Mrs. N. L. Roberts, 1708 St. Dennis Avenue, last 
night at 6:45 o'clock, after a long illness. She was a native of Princess Anne 
County, but has been a resident of Norfolk for 40 years. Surviving her are 
three daughters, Mrs. Susie Borg, Mrs. Mary F. Porter and Mrs. N. L. Roberts, 
of Norfolk; one son, E. V. Atwood, of Roanoke; 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-
grandchildren. Notice of funeral will appear later.
