Frances Rose Phelps Augustine, 73, peacefully passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, 
2002, in her beloved Ocean View.
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, she was preceded in 
death by her brother, Charles Lee Phelps Jr.
She is survived by her two sisters, Mary Phelps Rhodes and Regina Phelps Scotece 
of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; two daughters, Sheila Augustine Morris, her husband, 
Richard, and Rose Mary Augustine Morton, her husband, Jim, all of Norfolk; a 
son, Mark Nolan Augustine, his wife, Suzanne, of Bristol, Va., seven 
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was a secretary at Norfolk Catholic High School for 13 years and retired as 
secretary to the executive director of the Naval Supply Center after 17 years of 
service.
Her warmth, wit, and fire drew many to her and she will be greatly missed.
Donations may be made to the Southeastern Virginia Chapter of the Alzheimer's 
Association, 20 Interstate Corporate Center, Suite 233, Norfolk, VA 23502.
A memorial service will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive 
Chapel, Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The family extends its deepest gratitude to the warm and dedicated staff of 
Thornton Hall and of Odyssey Hospice for the loving manner in which they 
provided their care.
