Death of Mrs. Sallie A. Austin

The sad news reached this city of the death of Mrs. Sallie A. Austin, wife of 
Rev. D.B. Austin, pastor of Ebenezer M.E. Church, at her home near Suffolk 
yesterday.  Her remains will reach here today on the steamer Virginia Dare and 
the interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery.

Funeral Notice

The funeral of Mrs. SALLIE A., wife of the Rev. D.B. Austin, who died July 31st 
at 5 o'clock a.m., at Crittenden, Va., will take place THIS TUESDAY, August 1st, 
at the grave in Elmwood Cemetery on the arrival of the steamer Virginia Dare, 
which arrives between the hours of 1 and 2 o'clock p.m.

MINISTER'S WIFE DEAD

Mrs. Austin, wife of Rev. Daniel B. Austin, of the Virginia Methodist 
Conference, died at 5:00 o'clock this morning in Crittenden, Va.  She had been 
ill three weeks with hemorrhagic fever.  Death came at the home of Mr. James P. 
Rives.  She had been taken ill there while her husband was away.  Mrs. Austin 
was 48 years old.
The funeral will take place at 10 o'clock tomorrow from Ebenezer M.E. Church.  
Rev. W.C. Vaden, of Portsmouth, presiding elder, will conduct the exercises.  
The interment will be in Norfolk.  Mr. and Mrs. Austin had been at Crittenden 
about two years.
The deceased leaves three children, all of whom live in Norfolk - Mrs. Charles 
Tumbleson, J.B. Austin, William Austin.
