Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, June 20, 1997 
Thelma L. Austin of the 5400 block of Tidewater Drive died June 15, 1997, in
Newark, N.J.

A native of Norfolk, she was the widow of Richard Austin.

Survivors include two daughters, Doris D. Spellman of Norfolk and Mary A. Gibson
of Bloomfield, N.J.; son-in-law, Elwood L. Spellman of Norfolk; brother, Robert
Kilby of East Orange, N.J.; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and
a host of other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Larry Gibson; and her parents, Thelma
Kilby and Robert Kilby.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hale Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family and friends will assemble at the
residence Saturday at 10 a.m.
