Virginian-Pilot, August 02, 1899

The remains of Mrs. Sallie A. Austin, wife of Rev. D.B. Austin of Crittenden, 
Va., who died at her home Monday, arrived here on the steamer Virginia Dare 
from Suffolk at 1:30 p.m. yesterday, and were met at the wharf by friends in 
the city. They were taken to Elmwood Cemetery, where the interment took place. 
The services at the grave were conducted by Rev. S.C. Hatcher, of Queen Street 
M.E. Church, assisted by Rev. Daniel T. Merritt, of Huntersville Church. 
Following were the pall-bearers: W.A. Harrison, George B. Wilkerson, R.H. 
Atkinson, J.F. Houghwont, R.L. Wilkerson and J.W. Martin.
