NORFOLK - Beatrice Kearney Avery, 85, of the 100 block of Cromwell Pkwy., died
Sept. 26, 2003 in Autumn Care Nursing Home. Beatrice was born Oct. 22, 1917 in
Whitaker, N.C. She was predeceased by her husband, Nelson Avery.

She leaves to cherish her memory an adopted daughter, Bernetta Patterson; three
sisters, Emma Whitaker of Norfolk, Leona Bacon of Newport News and Anna McNair
of Oakland, Calif.; and a grandson, Antonio Patterson.

A funeral will be at noon Wednesday in Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby
St. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery , Norfolk. Family and friends will
assemble at 4817 Shafer St., Norfolk, one hour prior to the service for the
