She was the widow of Vernon Clifton Ayers and a daughter of James H. and Mrs. Laura Kelly Hale. A native of Petersburg, she lived here 85 years. She was a member of the Christian Temple. Surviving are a dauighter, Mrs. Virginia A. Pruitt of Norfolk; a grandson, Bland Pruitt of Greensboro, N.C., and four great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Friday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Richard E. Prince. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
