Norfolk Landmark November 30, 1890
News has reached the city of the death in Russell county, Va., of Mrs. S. A. 
Babcock, mother of Mr. Julius Babcock,  of this city, and Mr. John L. Babcock, of 
Princess Anne county. She was there visiting her daughters and died after an 
illness of only three days from pneumonia. She was 54 years of age. The remains 
will arrive here at 2 p.m. today over the Norfolk and Western railroad and will be 
interred at Elmwood. Mrs. Babcock was formerly a resident of South Portsmouth.
