Virginian Pilot September 17, 1976

                   Vinton Babcock, 101; 78 Years in Area

Norfolk - Vinton Saunders Babcock, 101, of 1400 block of E. Ocean View Ave., an 
area resident for 78 years, died Tuesday in a hospital.
Born in Princess Anne County, he was a former resident of Orlando, Fla.
He retired as a painter from the Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base. He was a 
Methodist.
Survivors include two sons, Louis V. Babcock of Norfolk and Freeland V. Babcock 
of San Antonio, Tex.; and three grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery with Hollomon-
Brown Funeral Home in charge.
