Norfolk Landmark August 19, 1897
BACKUS – At the residence of Mrs. E. J. Baker, No. 319 Park avenue, Tuesday, 
August 17th, at 11:30 p.m., Mrs. MARGARET A. BACKUS, widow of the late Wellington 
Backus, in the 77th year of her age.
The funeral will take place from the Epworth M. E. Church THURSDAY, August 19th, 
at 3 o’clock p.m. Friends and acquaintances respectfully invited to attend.
