BACKUS, MRS. PEARL STANT – In a hospital, Thursday, MRS. PEARL STANT BACKUS, widow 
of Benjamin Thurman Backus and daughter of the late John Tyler and Mrs. Emily 
Riley Stant, in the 80th year of her age. A funeral service will be held in H. D. 
Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, Saturday at 1 o’clock. Burial, Elmwood 
Cemetery.
