John Joseph Baecher, Jr. 86, died Saturday, April 11, 2015, in a local hospital. 
He was a native of Norfolk and was the son of the late John Joseph Baecher and 
Cecelia Cashin Baecher. He was preceded in death by his sons; John Joseph Baecher, 
III, and Charles Emmitt Baecher.
He was a graduate of the University of Virginia and was a retired securities 
broker.  He spent most of his adult life in New York, New York; he later retired 
back in Norfolk. He was a Roman Catholic and a member of Blessed Sacrament 
Catholic Church.
Survivors include his son Edward Baecher of Fishkill, New York, his brothers; 
Cecil C. Baecher of Glen Allen, Virginia, and Michael Baecher of Norfolk.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Friday, April 24, 
2015, at 10:00 AM. Reverend Father Joseph H. Metzger, III will officiate
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's 
choice.
H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
