The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark November 2, 1918
Dr. Richard Daingerfield Bagnall, formerly a well-known resident of Norfolk, 
died yesterday morning at Hampton, Va. where he has lived for the past two 
years, at 11 o'clock. Dr. Bagnall, who was 80 years old, was the son of the 
late William D. and Elizabeth D. Bagnall. He was a native of this city. A 
graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in medicine, he was a surgeon in the 
Confederate army, and practiced his profession in Norfolk and Baltimore.
He is survived by one brother, J. Selden Bagnall, and was also a brother of the 
late H. Boswell Bagnall.
Funeral services will be held at the grave, Elmwood cemetery, this morning upon 
arrival of N.Y., P & N. steamer, which is due at 9:20 o'clock.
