The body of Newton W. Bailey, seventeen-year-old youth who was accidentally 
drowned August 18, while swimming at the foot of the Berkley bridge, was 
moved to the Chatman Funeral Home.

Young Newton was the grandson of the late George P. Bailey of Lamberts Point 
and was making his home with his grandmother, Mrs. Mary Bailey of 46th st.

Funeral services for the victim were held at the St. John AME Church Sunday 
at 2 o'clock with the Rev. H. U. Shields officiating. Interment was n the 
Calvary Cemetery with the Chatman Funeral Home in charge.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Bailey; two 
grandmothers, three sisters, and three brothers.
