Nov. 1, 1933 Mrs. Matilda Robbins Bailey, 87, widow of W. T. Bailey, died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Blanche B. Winder, 524 Herman Avenue, last night at 10:30 o'clock after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Jeff Robbins and Mrs. Fannie Robbins and a native of Gloucester County. She had been a resident of Norfolk for 49 years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. L. L. Sadler and Mrs. Winder, of Norfolk; four sons, R. T. and G. W. Bailey, of Gloucester County, and L. J. and W. H. Bailey, of Norfolk; a half‑sister, Mrs. Sarah Anne West; two half‑brothers, William and Edward Robbins, of Gloucester County; 21 grandchildren and 17 great‑grandchildren. The body was removed to the funeral home of James V. Derry, 346 Princess Anne Road, where funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. by John McKinnize. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
