Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, June 1, 1994 
Shirley ``Big Shirley'' Virginia Jones Walker Bailey, 69, of the 2300 block of
Grandy Ave., died May 27, 1994, at home.

Mrs. Bailey was born in Norfolk. She was the widow of George L. Bailey and had
retired from the Naval Base after 41 years. She had been retired for nine years.

Survivors include five daughters, Phyllis Futrell, Reginia Walker, Vickie
Bailey, Sarah Montgomery and Jennifer Bailey, all of Norfolk; two sons, Gerald
Walker and Vernon Bailey, both of Norfolk; a sister, Savada Howard of
Chesapeake; 15 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Hale Funeral Home Chapel by
the Rev. M.L. Williams. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
