Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, July 23, 1993 
Elizabeth White Bailey, 85, died Wednesday, July 21, 1993, at the residence of 
her daughter, Annice B. Schuyler of Farmville.

Mrs. Bailey was born Dec. 9, 1907, in Norfolk. She was the daughter of Cecil 
R. and Annice J. Whitehurst White.

Mrs. Bailey was a member of Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church; a former 
regent of The Old Donation Chapter of The Daughters of the American 
Revolution; honorary national vice president and honorary senior state 
president of The Children of the American Revolution; former state president 
and member of the Suffolk Chapter of the National Society of the Colonial 
Dames of the 17th Century; The Rev. Robert Hunt Chapter of The Daughters of 
the American Colonists; Pickett-Buchanan Chapter of the United Daughters of 
the Confederacy; National Society Magna Carta Dames and National Society of 
Sons and Daughters of Pilgrims. Mrs. Bailey was a retired schoolteacher with 
the Norfolk city school system and a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary 
Society; member of The National Federation of Business and Professional 
Women's Club; and King's Daughters.

Survivors include her daughter, Annice B. Schuyler, and one son, David L. 
Bailey of Destin, Fla.; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery in 
Norfolk.

Arrangements are being handled by Shorter Funeral Home of Farmville.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
