Born in Norfolk, she retired four years ago as a nurse's aide for Hillhaven Nursing Home with 20 years service. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Norfolk, the usher board (NU)2, E.T. Mayers Missionary Circle, Quiet Ones and Hospitality Committee. Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Bailey Riddick of Chesapeake; a son, Johnnie Earl Bailey Jr. of Norfolk; two sisters, Lillian M. Tyson of Norfolk, Eloise M. Stanford of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Sylvester Macklin of Portsmouth; grandchildren, Lisa Hopkins, Lavonda Bailey, LaTonya Cicero, Edgar Riddick III and Bryan Riddick; three sisters-in-law, Mary Gallop of Norfolk, Teresa Macklin of Chesapeake and Beulah Macklin of Portsmouth. A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Mount Olive Baptist Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Dr. John R. Davis Sr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Family and friends will assemble at 2213 Haverford Drive, Chesapeake, at 11 a.m. Saturday for the procession to the church. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday in Hale Funeral Home.
