The funeral of Mrs. Eva Bailey who died at her late residence on Saturday, March 
27, at 10:46, was solemnized at Monumental A. M. E. Church Tuesday, March 30, at 
2 o’clock. A very consoling sermon was preached by the pastor, Rev. A. C. 
Clarke. Several papers of interest were read by friends who had known the 
deceased since childhood and who had been friends of hers for 27 years.

Mrs. Bailey died after a year’s illness, during which time she bore her 
affliction with Christian fortitude. She was a native of Washington, DC. A large 
number of friends were at the funeral services and the floral designs were 
numerous and beautiful. Mrs. Bailey is survived by seven children, three sisters 
and two brothers, other relatives and friends.
