Bain, who passed away at his home, No. 132 Charlotte Street, Friday morning, was held from his residence at noon yesterday, and was conducted by Rev. Flournoy Bouldin, assistant rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, in the presence of a large attendance of relatives and friends. The remains were laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery. Following were the pall-bearers: F.W. McCullough, William Culpepper, A.W. Cornick, E. Thompson, J. Thompson, David Creecy Jr., Thomas Ferguson and Richard Alfriend. The deceased was the son of the late George S. and Anna W. Bain, and was born in Petersburg, but had been a resident of Norfolk for a number of years, and was a gentleman of sterling character. For several years he was book-keeper for R.W. Santos & Bro., but at the time of his demise he was in the employ of F.W. McCullough. He leaves a widow and one child, and a brother George H. Bain, of this city.
