Main St. died Sunday at 3:35 p.m. in a hospital after a five week illness. A native of Berkley, he was a son of Gurdon Kimble Baker and Mrs. Nannie Hodges Baker Pritchard. He was a retired employe of McCloud Lumber Co. of Chesapeake; a member and life elder of Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian Church and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Chesapeake. He was active in the Tidewater Council, Boy Scouts of America from 1935 as scouting commissioner and member of the district committee. In 1943 he was awarded the Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor in Scouting. For six years he was also scoutmaster of Troop 13, Pasadena, Calif. He is survived by a brother, Gurdon Kenneth Baker of Deleon Springs, Fla. The body will be taken from Graham Funeral Home to Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian Church for a funeral service Tuesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Russell G. Flaxman. Burial will be Magnolia Cemetery.
