Virginian-Pilot March 18, 1908
The funeral of William Baker was held from the apartments of Funeral Director H. 
C. Smith, 179 Bank street, at 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon and was attended by 
members of Virginia Conclave No. 1, Heptasophs or S. W. M. Harmony Lodge of Odd 
Fellows and Pickett-Buchanan Camp, Confederate Veterans, of which the deceased was 
a member. The service was conducted by Rev. J. T. Taylor of Queen Street Methodist 
church and interment was in Elmwood cemetery. He was about 80 years of age and 
died leaving no relatives in this city.
