Norfolk Virginian March 7, 1893

Capt. Jos. Baker, one of the oldest citizens of Berkley, died yesterday 
afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, in the 80th year of his age.

The funeral of Captain Joseph Baker took place yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock 
from his late residence, foot of Liberty Street. The services were conducted by 
Rev. J.I. Vance, of First Presbyterian Church, Norfolk. The following gentlemen 
acted as pallbearers: E.M. Tilley, W.W. Tunis, Charles Sharp, Wm. M. Hope, E.M. 
Stoddard, Geo. D. Parker, E.V. White and W.T.J. Parkerson. The interment was in 
Magnolia Cemetery.
