She was a native of Vaughan, N.C. She was predeceased by her husband, Simuel Baker, and her two sons, William H. Griffin Jr. and Robert A. Griffin. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Campostella, where she served the Lord as a deaconess, a senior missionary, a member of the No. 2 Choir and Choir Union No. 1, Mother of the church, a member of Usher Board No. 1, a Sunday School teacher and a Gospel Cordette. She also held membership with the Home League of the Salvation Army, and Naomi Tent 31. She is survived by three daughters, Julia Griffin, Eleanor O. and her husband, Ernest Baker, and Lora E. Riddick, all of Norfolk; a sister, Francis Clemons of New York; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church Campostella by the Rev. Harold Cason. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
