The funeral of Jos. W. Baker, 433 Brambleton Avenue who died at his home on March 
18, was held from Hale’s Chapel Tuesday night. The deceased was born in the West 
Indies, but had lived in Norfolk for 45 years. He was one of the old shoemakers by 
trade, single, and a member of Eureka Lodge Elks. He leaves a number of friends to 
mourn their loss. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.
