George Baker Jr., World War II veteran of 1533 Glasgow street, who died in a 
New York hospital, was buried with full military honors Sunday, Nov. 10, in 
Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Funeral services were held at the residence at 1:30 p.m. with Dr. W. L. 
Hildebrand, pastor of Emanuel AME Church, officiating and delivering the 
eulogy.

Mrs. Grace Bushell acknowledged  the expressions of sympathy and read the 
family paper.  Mrs. Bessie Brogdon sang a solo.

Pallbearers were Paul Winston, William Blow, Thomas Winborne, Carey 
Winborne, Lloyd Edwards, Garfield Cross, Linal Cooper and Frank Mitchell.  
Fisher Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Mr. Baker was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Baker, Sr.  He is also survived 
by two sisters, Mrs. Ellen B. McCoy and Mrs. Kate B. Collins;  an aunt, Miss 
Mary E. Peyton;  two nephews, James and George Tyler;  niece,     Lucy P. 
McCoy and other relatives.
