Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, December 30, 1997 
Elijah Preston Baldwin, 83, of 2723 Oklahoma Ave., died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997,
in DePaul Medical Center.

Mr. Baldwin was the husband of the late Mrs. Catherine McCormick Baldwin. He was
manager and a life member of the Eureka Lodge, Princess Anne Road, Norfolk.

He is survived by six children: three daughters, Lena Parrish and Gail Perkins
of Manassas, Va., and Dr. Defloris Baldwin of Atlanta, Ga.; three sons, Emmanuel
Baldwin of Hephizabah, Ga., Walla Baldwin of Norfolk and Algy Baldwin of Falls
Church, Va.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces,
nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Hale Funeral Home
Chapel, Norfolk, by the Rev. Dr. Earl Brown. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery
. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
