Virginian-Pilot February 15, 1921
Leslie Colman Ballance, aged 49 years, died yesterday morning at a local hospital 
following a brief illness. He was a native of North Carolina and had been a 
resident of Norfolk for four years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie 
Ballance; two daughters, Mrs. H. W. Creecy, Jr. and Mrs. E. A. DeWaters; two sons, 
William J. and Curtis I. Ballance. He was a member of the Brickmasons and 
Plasterers International Union. The funeral will be held at the residence, 917 
Mariner street, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o’clock and will be conducted by Rev. 
C. H. Trueblood. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.
