Virginian Pilot November 5, 1901

Earl, the 17-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Ballance, died yesterday 
afternoon at 1:10 o'clock at the family residence, on Pendleton Street, 
after a brief illness.  The funeral will be conducted from the home this 
afternoon at 3 o'clock by Rev. M.P. Porter.  The interment will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk.

The funeral of Raymond Earl, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Ballance, 
took place from the residence on Pendleton Street yesterday afternoon  at 3 
o'clock.  Rev. M.P. Porter was the officiating minister.  At the conclusion 
of the service the remains were conveyed to Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, where 
they were interred.
