Virginian-Pilot  January 19, 1929
Oscar Bryant Ballance, aged 27, died yesterday morning at 10 o'clock at a local 
hospital.  He was a native of North Carolina and had resided in Norfolk for 15 
years.  Besides his parents, Mr. Ballance is survived by a sister, Mrs. Margaret 
Collins of Philadelphia; a brother, James Ballance, of Norfolk, and his 
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Mann.  The body will be taken from the residence, 
1801 Willoughby Avenue, to St. Mary's Catholic Church this morning at 10 o'clock 
for funeral services.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
