Virginian Pilot Thursday July 23, 1953 

Thomas James Ballance, 60, a certified public accountant, died yesterday at 
2:30 p.m. at his residence, 1510 Royal Terrace.
A native of Norfolk, he was a member of Charity Lodge No.10, Knights of Pythias.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marie Etheridge Ballance; a daughter, Miss 
Grace L. Ballance, Jr.; a grandson, Thomas J. Ballance III; a brother, 
Greenville H. Ballance, all of Norfolk, and a sister, Mrs. A.A. Tomlinson, of 
Richmond.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the Hollomon-Brown 
Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
