Virginian-Pilot June 18, 1912
George T. Ballentine died at the home of his son-in-law, Gilmer Goffigan, 822 
Twenty-sixth street, Sunday night, in the eighty-second year of his age. He was a 
native of Princess Anne county but had resided in Norfolk for many years where he 
was well known and highly esteemed. He is survived by a widow and two daughters, 
Mrs. Goffigan, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Tyrrell, wife of Dr. G. W. Tyrrell, of Perth 
Amboy, N.J. The funeral will be held at the residence of Mr. Goffigan at 11 a.m. 
today and will be conducted by Rev. W. H. T. Squires, of Knox Presbyterian church. 
The interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.
