Virginian Pilot May 21, 1909
Mrs. Mary Frances, the young wife of L.B. Balsome, died yesterday afternoon at 
2:30 o'clock, at the residence, 323 State street, after a lingering illness.  She 
was eighteen years old and a native of North Carolina, but had been living in 
Berkley ward the past 13 years.  She was a daughter of Mrs. Lydia Thomas of 
Berkley.
The funeral will be conducted from the residence this afternoon at 5:30 o'clock, 
Rev. W.A. Smith, pastor of the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church, officiating.  The 
interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
