Virginian-Pilot May 3, 1942
Mrs. Harriette Bamford, aged 88, widow of Edwin Bamford and daughter of the late 
M. G.  and Mrs. Martha Garrenton Morrisette, died at 11:15 o’clock yesterday 
morning at the Home for the Aged, Emmett street, after several months illness.
Mrs. Bamford is survived by two grandchildren, W. H. Bright, Jr. and E. L. 
Bright, of Washington, D.C.; two nephews, M. G. Morrisette, of Elizabeth City, 
N.C., and Wilson Morrisette, of Portsmouth. She was a native of Camden County, 
N.C., but had resided in Portsmouth for the past 15 years. She was a member of 
Park View Baptist Church.
The body was removed to the Sturtevant Funeral Home where funeral services will 
be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Burial will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery, Norfolk.
