Virginian-Pilot November 4, 1911
The funeral of Hartwell J. Banks, whose death occurred at the Soldiers Home, 
Richmond, Wednesday, was held from the residence of his daughter, Mrs. O. L. 
Gregory, No. 108 Charlotte street, Norfolk, yesterday morning. The service was 
conducted by Rev. Vernon I’Anson, D. D., of Grace Baptist church. The floral 
tributes were beautiful. The interment was in Elmwood cemetery.
Following were the pallbearers: N. B. Moore, Charles Quinn, William Land, U. S. 
Vaughan, J. E. Murphy and E. O. Williamson.
