Norfolk Landmark November 20, 1898
Buried in Elmwood
The remains of Mr. John W. Banks, once a resident of Norfolk, but for seven years 
past a citizen of Plymouth, N.C., were interred in Elmwood Cemetery at noon 
yesterday with religious services conducted by the Reverend Arthur S. Lloyd, 
rector of St. Luke’s Church, Norfolk. Mr. Banks, who was 60 years of age, died 
Wednesday night in Plymouth and preliminary funeral services were held there, 
after which all that was mortal of him was sent here for interment.
